Lawn Fawn Challenge #4 – Black, White & Bright!

I’m back with the next Lawn Fawn challenge.  This time it’s Black, White and Bright.  Sounds simple, right?  Well I found out that this one really challenged me.  All the Lawn Fawn stamps and dies are so cute that I just wanted to put bright pretty colors with them!  So I had to pick out my black and white part and work from there.  Here is what I decided to make:

(c) Nancy Roth

I started with a black and white dotted paper and decided to add yellow as my bright.  Then I went through my Lawn Fawn sets and discovered that these little kitties were just “clawing” to get out of their storage and have some fun!  This adorable set is called Meow You Doin’ and has several adorable cats playing with all their favorite toys.

I first cut my yellow backing sheet to leave a tiny white edge from the card.  Then I cut the dotted paper slightly smaller than the yellow.  Using a circle die I cut 3 openings in the dotted paper.  I stamped 3 of the cats from the set and, in keeping with the black and white theme, I colored them with gray Copic markers.  One solid, one striped and one spotted.  I also cut out a yarn ball and colored it red.  I clipped the front paws loose from the sitting cat and then tucked each of them into one of the circle.  I taped them into place on the back and then put foam tape on the back for dimension and added it to the card.  I then added the yarn ball to the top kitty.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of the yellow and then clipped the ends into a pennant flag and bent up the points for dimension.   I attached the sentiment piece off to the side in a vertical position.

What an adorable card to send to a friend or to someone who has been having a hard time.  The little kitties will make them smile.  Thanks for checking out my blog and leave me a message to tell me what you think!  Have a great day!!
